At Advanced Dentistry at Century Square, we are frequently asked for information on Invisalign® alternatives. If you live in the Seattle area, we encourage you to call (206) 292-9900 and schedule a consultation so we can answer any questions you may have and make recommendations based on your specific challenges and goals.

When evaluating Invisalign® alternatives, it is important to remember how effective Invisalign® aligners can be. They can move your teeth into a straight position and improve your bite and appearance while being virtually invisible. This process is a convenient and attractive alternative to traditional braces. Still, many of our 98101 patients are interested in solutions that produce faster results. As a cosmetic dentist, we can provide you with both.

Our Popular Invisalign® Alternatives

  • Shaping and contouring. If you only have a couple of teeth that look crooked or out of place, we can improve their appearance by shaping and contouring them. In this procedure, a small portion of the enamel is removed. For example, if the corner of a tooth is overlapping another, that corner could be shaved off and the tooth smoothed and polished for an improved appearance. The actual position of the tooth is not changed, but the imperfection is removed. Once done, we typically use dental bonding material to complete the process.
  • Dental veneers. At Advanced Dentistry at Century Square, we use dental veneers to solve a wide variety of aesthetic challenges. They are a thin porcelain shell bonded to the surface of the tooth in order to change its appearance. Since all you can see is the veneer, we can use this solution to close gaps in between teeth, make crooked ones appear straight, change the shape or size of teeth, etc. Typically, veneers are placed on all the visible teeth for the maximum impact. If you want to see how well they work, simply search for pictures of your favorite celebrity. Most of them have used dental veneers and cosmetic dentistry to create their show-stopping smiles.
  • Dental crowns. A crown is typically used as a dental restoration when the tooth is severely damaged or a large portion of the enamel is missing. They are a cap that surrounds the tooth completely. As such, a crown can correct many of the same challenges as a veneer. Since placing them is more invasive, we typically only use crowns to improve the appearance of teeth when there is also damage to correct.
  • Dental implants. If the gaps in between your teeth are caused by tooth loss, dental implants will be a more successful and comprehensive Invisalign® alternative. While Invisalign® can certainly close gaps in between your teeth, it is not designed to close holes caused by significant tooth loss. For this, you should consider implants as a durable and natural-looking replacement solution.

At Advanced Dentistry at Century Square, we specialize in creating beautiful smiles. We understand that a beautiful smile can improve your confidence, open doors, and create a lasting impression. Whether you are interested in straightening your teeth and improving your smile with aligners or one of our many Invisalign® alternatives, we can help.
